Toxic Ingredient 1: Sulphates
It is a chemical that acts as a surfactant and is used for the lathering process. Sulphates can irritate your eyes & skin. Sulphates are extremely prevalent in your products because of their ability to cleanse any kind of oils either from skin or hair and leave it squeaky clean while forming good lather.
In the long run, it can irritate your skin and trigger allergies.
Our Non Toxic Alternative
We use eco-certified surfactants that are mild and derived from plants like Decyl Glucoside, Caprylyl Glucoside, Cocamidopropyl Betaine in our face washes, and are also 100% toxin-free!
Toxic Ingredient 2: Parabens
Parabens are the preservatives used to keep your skincare and haircare products fresh and germ-free. Research shows that they cause increased production of the hormone estrogen (female sex hormone) and interfere with reproductive and brain function.
Our Non Toxic Alternative
Super Smelly products contain natural and plant-based preservatives like Caprylhdroxamic Acid, Sodium Benzoate and Potassium Sorbate that do no harm to the skin or hair. They are food-grade preservatives and are completely compatible with our bodies.
Toxic Ingredient 3: Petrochemicals
Petrolatum is added to lip balms and moisturisers for its softening effect. While it creates a barrier to prevent water from escaping, it also prevents absorption of moisture from the air. If not refined well, harmful chemicals like polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) can be retained in it.

We steer clear of this and have crafted our products with natural ingredients which have heaps of benefits plus functionality. Our substitutes include Rosehip, Almond & Argan Oil that protect and nourish the skin sans the harmful effects.
Toxic Ingredient 4: Formaldehyde
Formaldehyde is often used as a preservative in skincare. It is a colorless gas and is used to prevent the growth of bacteria. It is associated with developmental toxins, hair loss, scalp burns, asthma and neurotoxicity.
Our Non Toxic Alternative
Sodium Benzoate – We keep away from nasty preservatives that do more harm than good! This compound is plant-based and acts as a preservative in our hair styling gels.
Toxic Ingredient 5: Fragrances
Fragrances are found in products like perfumes, moisturizers, shampoos, cleansers and conditioners. Some fragrances are made with chemicals that can cause respiratory disorders, skin allergies, dermatitis, and side effects in the reproductive system.
